Something at the bottom of my heart,
Something deep beneath the earth,
Something formless, yet always near.
Fascinated by metal as a material,
I began shaping what I could feel—
that simple act was the beginning of everything.
Metals—minerals—have existed on Earth for hundreds of millions of years.
Their molecules reside within humans, animals, and plants alike.
That which once lay deep within the ground now takes form as art.
And one day, it may return to the earth,
or perhaps live again inside a person, an animal, a tree.
Metal, the ever-circulating material.
This work, too, exists—here, now.
I seek to create pieces that quietly invite conversation,
where a faint breath may be felt, almost heard.
I want to follow that breath—
and let it guide me to what lies just beneath the surface.
